Dust
The final project for my introduction to industrial design class, Dust is a movable stand for the vacuum hose of a wood shop dust collection system. Dust solves a niche problem I discovered while watching my dad turn a wooden vase on his lathe: most older tools don't accommodate the vacuum hose. As a result, my dad must precariously prop the hose on an object in his shop or nearby scrap of wood. The design features an articulating head into which the vacuum hose is placed and a telescoping body to accommodate any tool in his wood shop.
