Modular Porch Swing
In a quick week long design challenge, I tasked myself with designing a porch swing that is able to be shipped flat, easy to assemble, and customizable. When purchasing their swing, the user would be able to customize the dimensions by specifying the number of slats comprising the back and sides of the swing; they would also be able to customize material. The assembly is very simply as the slots in the base plates, extrusions on each of the slats, and holes for the through rods serve as signifiers telling the user the proper way to construct the swing. The swing was modeled and rendered in Fusion360.
